TIJJANIYYA GRASSROOTS (TIGMEIN)
The Tijjaniyya Grass-root Mobilization and Empowerment Initiative of Nigeria (TiGMEIN) is an initiative that is aimed at triggering national development through sensitizing, mobilizing, informing, educating and empowering Tijjaniyya followers from the grass-root. The Tijjaniyya community in Nigeria is plagued with several problems, which have led to truncation of its members’ from accessing certain rights and privileges; hereby stalling the general progress of the movement.
Tariqatu Tijaniyya is a pristine path of spiritual elevation through Qur’an and Sunnah, originating from the Maghreb and reaching Nigeria since early 19th Century. The path boasts of a staggering number of followers in Nigeria, numbering up to fifty (50) million people, making it the largest religious movement within a country in Africa. This population holds great potentials religiously, politically, socially and economically, which are not tapped due to one drawback or the other.
